IBM and Sarvam have officially joined forces to accelerate the development and deployment of sovereign AI technologies across India. This partnership aims to integrate IBM’s Sovereign Core software with Sarvam’s proprietary AI stack, which features language and voice models built specifically for the Indian context. The initiative is designed to provide a secure, governed, and trusted AI framework for both public sector entities and regulated enterprises.

The collaboration will be centered at the IBM GovTech AI Innovation Center in Lucknow, which will function as a hub for incubation and demonstration. By focusing on critical administrative workflows, the partnership targets high-impact use cases such as citizen services, grievance redressal, and complex document processing. This alignment ensures that the AI solutions meet India’s specific regulatory, security, and operational requirements while fostering local innovation.
