Centre Revises Seniority for 36 IAS Officers in AGMUT Cadre

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued a significant order revising the seniority batches of 36 IAS officers belonging to the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories) cadre. This decision follows a comprehensive review of promotion vacancies and administrative requirements dating back to 2015. Under the new directive, several officers have been granted a one-year seniority benefit, effectively moving them to an earlier batch. For instance, Ram Niwas Sharma has been moved to the 2009 batch, providing him with a higher seniority standing. The list includes 36 officers who will now see changes in their year of allotment, which directly influences their eligibility for future promotions to higher grades like Secretary or Principal Secretary.
