Government Report Urges AI Integration to Bolster Healthcare Infrastructure

A government-backed report released on August 9, 2026, has highlighted the urgent need to modernize India's healthcare infrastructure. The report identifies an aging population and a rising burden of non-communicable diseases as primary drivers for this necessity. Current data indicates that India faces significant shortages in the number of doctors, hospital beds, and diagnostic equipment like MRI machines when compared to global averages.

To bridge these gaps, the report strongly advocates for the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) from pilot projects into routine clinical practice.
