India Unveils Draft National Health Research Policy To Transform Medical Innovation Ecosystem

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, alongside the Department of Health Research, has officially released the draft National Health Research Policy 2026. This comprehensive proposal aims to unify India's medical research infrastructure, spanning biomedical science, clinical medicine, public health, and behavioral sciences. The government has opened the draft for public consultation, inviting stakeholders to provide feedback and suggestions until the deadline of July 27, 2026. This initiative serves as a strategic extension of recent efforts to modernize and decentralize India's healthcare system, making it more people-centric and self-reliant.
