Electronics Development Fund Backs Startups Raising Over ₹22,550 Crore

Startups supported by the government's Electronics Development Fund have collectively raised over ₹22,553.82 crore, as stated by Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Lok Sabha. Established as a Fund of Funds, the EDF has invested ₹257.77 crore across eight SEBI-registered daughter funds up to June 30, 2026.

Daughter Fund Investments:

These daughter funds have successfully deployed ₹1,335.77 crore into 128 companies operating within the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing and Information Technology sectors. The initiative has leveraged EDF investments to raise approximately five times the capital from broader markets while helping create or acquire 373 Intellectual Properties.

Regional Distribution and New Funds:

Karnataka leads in total investments with 90 companies, 89 of which are located in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Chennai-headquartered Anicut Capital launched its Grand Anicut Seed Fund targeting ₹175 crore to invest in 20 deep-tech and enterprise-tech startups, alongside Fixxly securing $5.5 million in seed funding.
