Disability Rights Groups Demand Ban on Pellet Guns and Batons

Disability rights and medical advocacy organizations have formally called for a nationwide police ban on pellet guns and electric shock batons. Activists reported that crowd control methods deployed against demonstrators resulted in severe physical harm and permanent disabilities. Civil society organizations argue that these crowd-control weapons violate fundamental safety standards.

Advocacy groups are pressing authorities for an independent judicial inquiry into the police actions taken during the parliamentary march.
