Delhi Bus Accident Claims 12-Year-Old Student in New Ashok Nagar

A 12-year-old student named Kayna Pal tragically died after a Delhi Transport Corporation electric bus collided with her scooter in East Delhi on August 14, 2026. Kayna, a Class VIII student, was riding pillion with her uncle on their way to school for Independence Day celebrations when the accident occurred around 8 am on Dallupura Road.

The bus driver, 45-year-old S.K. Murad, fled the scene following the collision before being apprehended by local law enforcement authorities. According to accounts from police investigators and the victim's father, Aman Pal, the electric bus was allegedly speeding and veered into the wrong lane, ultimately crushing the young student beneath its wheels while injuring her uncle.
