The Chernivtsi City Council has officially terminated contracts with three major electric scooter operators—Bolt, Vevi, and Jet.ua—resulting in a complete city-wide ban on rental services. The resolution, passed on August 10, 2026, received support from 22 council members, effectively requiring all companies to clear their equipment from public thoroughfares within a 14-day window. Operators failing to comply face forced removal of their assets at their own expense, marking a significant regulatory crackdown on micromobility.

The primary catalysts for the legislative action include persistent resident complaints regarding the disorderly parking of scooters on sidewalks and frequent traffic rule violations by users.
