BYD Launches Sealion 7 Dynamic EV at Rs 41.90 Lakh
BYD Sealion 7 Dynamic Launch:
BYD has launched a new entry-level Dynamic trim for its Sealion 7 electric vehicle, priced at ₹41.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant makes the electric SUV ₹8 lakh cheaper than the Premium trim priced at ₹49.90 lakh and the Performance trim at ₹55.90 lakh. The Dynamic trim features a 71.8kWh Blade battery pack powering a 231hp rear-wheel-drive motor with a claimed range of 520km.
Specifications and Features:
The Sealion 7 Dynamic accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 7.3 seconds using an NEDC-rated setup. While retaining major features such as LED lighting, a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.25-inch driver's display, powered front seats, and Level 2 ADAS, it makes minor omissions. The entry trim includes smaller 19-inch alloy wheels, 10 speakers, and removes items like a head-up display and gesture-controlled tailgate.
Market Positioning:
The competitive pricing positions the Sealion 7 Dynamic directly against luxury electric offerings like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and BMW iX1 LWB in the Indian automotive market. The lower entry price point is expected to attract buyers seeking premium electric performance without touching the ₹50 lakh threshold. BYD aims to capture broader market share in the luxury EV segment.
