Gearbox Unveils Borderlands 4 Expansion Packs and Release Dates

Gearbox has officially announced two upcoming content updates for its popular first-person looter shooter, Borderlands 4. The developer released trailers showcasing Bounty Pack 4: Murders and Acquisitions along with a teaser for Story Pack 2. The first major update, Bounty Pack 4, arrives on July 30, 2026, across multiple platforms. This pack introduces a repeatable mission where players assist a character named Levaine. Players must settle scores between warring factions to secure powerful Order technology. The mission forces players to battle frenzied bandits who have consumed contaminated salt.

The July 30 update delivers significant fresh content to the game. It features a new main boss, three mini bosses, and an entirely new map area. Players can hunt for new Legendary and Pearlescent loot to upgrade their characters. The update also includes the Bounty Pack 4: Vault Card 4. This card offers four rerollable pieces of Legendary gear. Additionally, players receive a unique head for each base game Vault Hunter. The pack provides various cosmetic skins for characters, weapons, vehicles, and drones.

The second update, Story Pack 2, will launch on September 10, 2026. This expansion brings the return of the fan-favorite Beastmaster FL4K as the hunt resumes on the planet Kairos. The content will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
