BJP Overhauls National Team with Goyal, Irani, and Madhav

Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin has finalized a comprehensive organizational overhaul, marking his first major structural change since becoming the party's youngest chief at age 46. The revamped national setup features Union Minister Piyush Goyal as national treasurer, alongside former Union Minister Smriti Irani and veteran leader Ram Madhav stepping into crucial roles as vice-presidents and general secretaries. Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb is also included in this new hierarchy.

In a move highlighting data-driven campaigning, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Pathak—a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, former IIT Delhi professor, and former AAP strategist with academic roots at Oxford and MIT—has been appointed national secretary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah oversaw the final list to balance administrative experience with grassroots mobilization.

These changes are expected to trigger a subsequent Union Cabinet reshuffle as senior ministers transition into full-time organizational duties. The new team aims to strengthen party machinery, enhance financial logistics, and sharpen campaign strategies ahead of crucial state assembly elections and the 2029 general elections.
