BJP Credits Central Government for Andhra Pradesh Development Surge

Andhra Pradesh BJP spokesperson Sheikh Baji stated on Sunday that the Central government has been instrumental in the state’s developmental trajectory through substantial financial and infrastructural backing. Baji noted that thousands of crores have been released specifically for key projects like the Polavaram national project and the capital development of Amaravati. This financial support reflects a broader commitment to stabilizing and advancing the state’s economy through long-term infrastructure investment.

The central assistance extends across diverse sectors, including the expansion of national highways, modernization of ports and airports, and the enhancement of rail connectivity. A significant milestone mentioned includes the establishment of the South Coast Railway Zone with Visakhapatnam serving as its headquarters, alongside dedicated funding for the Bhogapuram international airport. These projects aim to foster industrial growth and improve the logistics network, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a vital node in India's industrial corridors. Financial allocations have consistently trended upward, with significant earmarking in both the 2024–25 and 2025–26 Union Budgets.

State BJP president P.V.N. Madhav previously emphasized that Andhra Pradesh has received massive assistance, citing figures of approximately ₹14 lakh crore in overall support. This includes green corridor projects for Visakhapatnam and continued support for the speedy completion of the Polavaram project. As these initiatives progress, the state government focuses on leveraging this central funding to accelerate regional development and healthcare improvements. The ongoing collaboration between the state and central authorities is expected to further strengthen infrastructure, ultimately aiming for long-term economic sustainability and improved public welfare across the region.
