Bhogapuram Airport Inauguration Preparations Reviewed by Minister

Minister for MSME and NRI Affairs Kondapalli Srinivas has completed a formal inspection of the Alluri Sitharama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram. The review ensures final arrangements are in place ahead of the scheduled August 1 inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Local officials, including Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and SP A.R. Damodar, have finalized security protocols and parking logistics for the high-profile visit.

The airport project, which originated during the 2014-2019 TDP administration, reached completion under the current NDA government's oversight. Strategic placement on National Highway-16 positions the facility as a major logistical hub for the North Andhra region. Officials aim for the airport to serve as a catalyst for industrial development in Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, and Visakhapatnam by improving regional connectivity and logistical efficiency.

The inauguration marks a pivotal shift for the regional economy, with expectations of significant job creation in the aviation, tourism, and manufacturing sectors. Local authorities anticipate that the operational start of the facility will accelerate private investment in the North Andhra districts. As August 1 approaches, the focus remains on ensuring seamless infrastructure transitions and managing the influx of dignitaries and industrial leaders expected at the opening ceremony.
