Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V Launches With 18.5HP Engine

Bajaj Auto has introduced the new 4-valve version of its Pulsar N160 motorcycle, featuring a redesigned 165cc engine that delivers 18.5 horsepower at 9500rpm. The upgraded machine is offered in multiple variants, with the base S version priced at ‹1.34 lakh and the feature-rich SS model priced at ‹1.43 lakh ex-showroom. This launch targets younger urban riders looking for a balance of power and agility in the hyper-competitive 160cc segment.

The new powerplant features a larger 63.5mm bore and shorter 52mm stroke to achieve a high rev limit of 10,900rpm while maintaining smooth power delivery. Engineers added fatter 37mm USD forks, a ride-by-wire throttle system with four riding modes, and a 5-inch TFT display supporting Bluetooth music control and Google Maps casting. The transition to a four-valve head improves mid-range punch and top-end efficiency compared to its predecessor.

Positioned directly against rivals like the Apache RTR 160 4V, the updated Pulsar retains a kerb weight of 151kg alongside an accessible seat height of 795mm. The inclusion of dual-channel ABS and advanced connectivity options strengthens Bajaj Auto's competitive edge in the domestic 160cc motorcycle segment. If sales momentum remains strong, the firm may expand the four-valve technology to other models within its portfolio.
