Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter Variants Expected to Launch in Nepal

Bajaj Auto is preparing to expand its electric two-wheeler portfolio in Nepal with the anticipated launch of two new Chetak scooter models, the C2501 and C3503. These vehicles are expected to debut at the upcoming NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 scheduled for August. The move marks a strategic expansion into the growing Nepali electric mobility market, catering to diverse consumer segments with varying performance needs.

The entry-level Chetak C2501 variant is reportedly equipped with a 2.5 kWh battery offering an IDC-certified range of 113 kilometres and a top speed of 60 km/h. Conversely, the premium C3503 model features a larger 3.5 kWh battery that extends the range up to 153 kilometres. This model is expected to include enhanced smart connectivity features and a digital instrument display, targeting customers seeking longer range and advanced technology in their daily commute.

The introduction of these models responds to rising fuel costs and an expanding charging network across Nepal, which has spurred significant interest in sustainable transport. While an official announcement from Bajaj's authorized distributor in Nepal is currently pending, industry experts anticipate that pricing and full availability details will be confirmed during the August expo. The launch represents a broader trend of Indian automotive leaders strengthening their regional footprint in South Asia through localized electric vehicle offerings.
