Ayaneo Unveils Konkr Pocket Advance Retro Handheld Console

Chinese handheld manufacturer Ayaneo has unveiled the Konkr Pocket Advance, a modern hardware reinterpretation of the iconic Game Boy Advance. The device preserves the classic horizontal layout that defined Nintendo's 2001 console but updates almost every internal and external component for a contemporary audience. Launching later this year, the handheld will be available in two primary colorways: navy blue and coral orange, paying homage to the Indigo and Spice Orange editions of the original hardware. This announcement marks a significant entry into the booming premium retro gaming market.

The Konkr Pocket Advance features a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 960 × 640, providing a significantly sharper visual experience than the original hardware. Ayaneo has equipped the device with a full set of modern inputs, including ABXY buttons, dedicated menu and shoulder buttons, and a physical volume wheel. Connectivity options are comprehensive, featuring USB-C for charging and data, microSD card expansion, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
