Actress Janhvi Kapoor has strongly condemned the online circulation of an AI-generated morphed video altering her performance in the popular track Chuttumalle from the film Devara: Part 1.

Hindustan Times reported that creators and distributors of such content must be held accountable under the law rather than having it dismissed as a joke or entertainment. The synthetic video altered Janhvi Kapoor's likeness from the popular Devara track Chuttumalle to depict her in an explicit manner before social media takedowns were executed.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across the entertainment industry, prompting prominent actors to demand stringent legal measures against the perpetrators. Jr NTR, who stars opposite Kapoor in the 2024 action drama directed by Koratala Siva, publicly denounced the content on X as disgusting and shameless, vowing to pursue rigorous legal action against those responsible for creating and sharing the clip.

Actor Jr NTR condemned the morphed video as disgusting, sick, and shameless, and pledged to take every possible legal action against its creators and distributors.

Industrywide Backlash and Demands for Regulation

Telugu star Chiranjeevi also voiced deep concern over the degrading use of artificial intelligence, stating that he plans to take the matter directly to the Telugu Film Chamber, the Producers' Council, and cybercrime authorities to establish a dedicated support cell.

Chiranjeevi urged the public to refrain from viewing, downloading, or recirculating synthetic deepfake videos even to condemn them, advising immediate reporting to platform moderators and cyber police.

Kapoor expressed gratitude to her co-star and industry colleagues for amplifying the condemnation, urging society to reexamine ingrained attitudes toward women's boundaries. Meanwhile, reports indicate that the offending video was removed following initial warnings, while artists and public figures continue to call upon central and state governments to enact robust legislative frameworks against deepfake abuse.
