ElevenLabs Enables Direct Music Publishing to SoundCloud

By The Indus Pulse Editorial Team3 min read

Artificial intelligence audio startup ElevenLabs has launched an integration that enables creators to publish machine-generated music directly to streaming service SoundCloud. The partnership allows creators using the ElevenMusic generation platform to send finished tracks straight to SoundCloud, eliminating the need to download audio files and re-upload them manually.

Direct Publishing and Subscription Benefits

Under the arrangement, audio uploaded to SoundCloud through the integration will carry a dedicated label identifying the track as artificial intelligence generated. As part of the commercial tie-up, ElevenLabs is offering SoundCloud Artist Pro subscribers three months of complimentary access to its ElevenMusic Pro subscription tier. The ElevenMusic Pro service tier permits creators to generate up to 1,000 songs, perform 500 audio stem splits, and establish five custom styles or vocals each month. SoundCloud Chief Executive Officer Eliah Seton noted that the partnership opens novel avenues for musicians to share creative projects and connect with audiences. ElevenMusic Pro is normally priced at $9.99 a month, according to The Next Web. SoundCloud's policy prohibits AI-generated content that misleads audiences about its origins or creators, including music that impersonates other artists, according to The Next Web.

ElevenLabs Music Evolution and Streaming Growth

ElevenLabs originally released a music-generation model in 2025 before introducing a consumer app that lets you generate songs using prompts in April 2026. One month later, the audio firm released an updated music model capable of shifting genres mid-track and handling more complex vocals. ElevenLabs stated that users have generated more than 25 million audio tracks across its suite of models to date. The startup also maintains an audio distribution arrangement with Spotify, allowing authors to generate synthesized narrations for audiobooks published on the service. Spotify has reached agreements with music labels to let creators remix tracks with automated tools, but has not named model partners like ElevenLabs.

Diverging Streaming Industry Policies on Machine Audio

SoundCloud has established itself as the most receptive major audio streaming service toward generative audio, providing varied tool integrations directly to artists. Last month, SoundCloud teamed up with audio processing firm Moises so creators can transfer tracks, while integrating services like Google Flow Music and Hook.

Much of the wider music streaming industry is moving in the opposite direction by implementing filtering or strict prohibitions. Streaming platform Deezer is rolling out a settings switch designed to exclude synthetic songs from playback feeds, whereas Bandcamp prohibited machine-created submissions. Major competitors like Spotify and YouTube treat upload classification with greater reservation, whereas SoundCloud asks creators under European Union guidelines to disclose synthetic songs without issuing takedowns. For artists and rights holders, the practical consequence is a reduced obstacle to filling catalogs with machine-made audio alongside disclosure requirements.
