Yogi Adityanath Launches Mega Plantation Drive In Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath officially launched the state-wide Paudharopan Mahayagya 2026 on July 12 from Gorakhpur. The ambitious environmental initiative aims to plant 35 crore saplings across Uttar Pradesh to bolster the state's green cover. During the inauguration event, the Chief Minister planted a sacred Triveni, underscoring the cultural and ecological significance of the exercise.

The annual plantation drive is a flagship policy designed to combat climate change and mitigate local environmental degradation through large-scale afforestation. The government has mobilized various departments and local communities to participate in the sapling distribution and planting process.
