Yamaha Patents High-Performance NMAX 155 Tech MAX for India

Yamaha Motor India has officially patented the NMAX 155 Tech MAX scooter, signaling a potential expansion of the brand's premium maxi-scooter portfolio. This model, known for its aggressive styling and advanced features, offers a more sophisticated alternative to the Aerox 155 currently available in the Indian market. The patent filing suggests that Yamaha may be preparing to bring more high-performance, big-displacement scooters to cater to the growing demand for premium urban mobility solutions.

Unlike the Aerox 155, which leans toward a sporty design, the NMAX 155 Tech MAX is a true maxi-scooter featuring aerodynamic bodywork, a projector LED headlight, and enhanced wind protection. It is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 15.1 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque. Key technical features include a dual-stage CVT gearbox with a downshift switch, a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster with navigation support, and gas-charged rear shock absorbers for improved ride quality.

The scooter is designed for convenience and efficiency, featuring a 7.1L fuel tank and a lower seat height of 770mm, which improves accessibility compared to existing models. With front and rear disc brakes and a focus on long-distance comfort, the NMAX 155 Tech MAX aims to challenge the current segment leaders.
