Two Men Arrested in Hyderabad Over Wage Dispute Stabbing

Attapur police, supported by the Hyderabad Task Force, arrested two men on Thursday, July 9, 2026, for the attempted murder of 24-year-old Syed Pashu. The violent confrontation occurred in the early hours of July 7, 2026, within the Chinthalmet area of Suleman Nagar. Police identified the suspects as 24-year-old Syed Aftab and 28-year-old Akbar Khan, both of whom reportedly have prior criminal records pending against them.

Investigators determined that the attack was driven by a financial dispute involving unpaid wages of ₹2,100. The victim had been aggressively pursuing the recovery of these wages, which were owed by a mutual employer, Sheikh Mobin, for previous goods carriage work performed in Mumbai. Tensions escalated when Syed Aftab allegedly recruited Akbar Khan to help target the victim. A confrontation ensued in Chinthalmet, where the suspects brandished knives during the altercation.

During the attack, the victim sustained a severe stab wound to the right side of his abdomen. Police successfully intervened to recover physical evidence, including three knives, two mobile phones, and clothing belonging to the victim and the primary accused. The suspects have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are underway. The severity of the incident has drawn local attention to workplace disputes and the associated risks of violent escalation in the region.
