Swedish Man Sentenced For Coercing Wife Into Mass Prostitution Exploitation

A 61-year-old man from the Swedish province of Ångermanland received a four-year and five-month prison sentence on Tuesday for coercing his wife into sexual servitude. The court found that the defendant orchestrated the sale of sexual services involving over 120 men, exercising control through surveillance cameras, physical threats, and the administration of drugs within their secluded Kramfors home.

Investigations revealed the abuse persisted from 2022 until October 2025, when the victim successfully fled the residence to contact law enforcement. Prosecutors detailed a campaign of extreme intimidation, including threats of violence and death, designed to isolate the victim and force compliance, despite the defendant’s claims that the encounters were consensual.

Beyond the primary sentencing, the court convicted 28 additional men for the purchase of sexual services, with two receiving prison time and the rest serving probation or suspended sentences. This high-profile case highlights the broader legal battle against organized exploitation in Sweden, with the victim awarded 200,000 krona in damages.
