Skoda Peaq Electric SUV Debuts: Design Evolution From Vision 7S Concept

The Skoda Peaq has officially arrived as the brand's largest and most significant electric SUV to date, marking the production evolution of the Vision 7S concept first revealed in 2022. Measuring 4,874mm in length with a 2,965mm wheelbase, the three-row vehicle features a modern, solid design language, including a distinctive closed-off 'Tech-Deck' front fascia, T-shaped Matrix LED headlights, and a panoramic glass roof. It offers multiple powertrain configurations, ranging from a 63kWh battery pack with 204hp to a dual-motor all-wheel-drive 90x variant producing 299hp, with a maximum claimed range of 647km.

The production version of the Peaq underwent significant adjustments from the original Vision 7S concept to better align with real-world requirements. While retaining the bold, rugged aesthetic, the car transitioned from concept-only elements like rear-hinged suicide doors and camera-based mirrors to more conventional, practical solutions like B-pillars and traditional side mirrors. The interior also shifted towards a more functional layout, replacing the concept’s oval steering wheel and flexible dashboard with a 13.6-inch portrait touchscreen, a 10-inch digital driver display, and traditional seating configurations for up to seven passengers.

The Peaq represents a strategic shift for Skoda as it aims to capture the premium family electric SUV market with its expansive interior space, boasting 935 litres of luggage capacity with the third row folded. Though currently under evaluation for the Indian market, the model remains a key priority for local leadership, especially as the brand seeks to enter India's competitive premium EV landscape. As Skoda continues to refine its global electric product strategy, the Peaq stands as a testament to the brand's capability to blend futuristic design with everyday utility, setting a new benchmark for its future zero-emission lineup.
