U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a rendering of a new limited-edition travel document to mark the United States' 250th anniversary of independence. The passport, labeled as the Patriot Passport, features a stern-faced portrait of the president leaning on his desk, alongside his signature and a depiction of the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence. The cover and internal pages also include the phrase: Welcome, but be good!.

This initiative follows President Trump's pattern of personally stamping his influence on government institutions. The design appears based on a portrait by photographer Daniel Torok. The State Department previously indicated that commemorative passports with custom artwork would be available starting July 6 via in-person appointments in Washington. While the White House has promoted the rendering, the State Department has not yet provided further details on the rollout.
