Police Constable Dies of Sudden Heart Attack While on Duty in Raichur

Renukaraj, a 37-year-old police constable attached to the Devadurga police station in Raichur, died of a sudden heart attack while deployed for security duties during the Moharram festival. The constable collapsed while working in Arkera village, Deodurg taluk, after reporting intense chest pain and numbness in his left arm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Colleagues promptly transported the constable to the Arakera Primary Health Centre. Despite the rapid response of personnel, Renukaraj collapsed in his chair and succumbed to the cardiac event within seconds while medical staff were preparing an emergency injection. The incident has sent shockwaves through the district police force, as Renukaraj was noted for his physical fitness and had no prior record of significant illness.

The Raichur district police leadership has officially paid tribute to the deceased officer, honoring his service to the force.
