Pakistan-Afghanistan Tensions Flare Over Military Airstrikes

Tensions have intensified between Pakistan and Afghanistan following cross-border military operations. In April, Pakistani forces conducted airstrikes in the Khost and Paktika provinces of Afghanistan, targeting hideouts linked to the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). These actions were a direct response to a lethal suicide bombing in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that claimed the lives of seven soldiers.
