IndiaAI Mission Launches BuildAI TechPitchSprint To Incubate Deep-Tech Startups

The IndiaAI Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, has officially launched the BuildAI TechPitchSprint in collaboration with the ITEL Foundation. This two-day hackathon and pitch event, hosted at the IIT Gandhinagar Research Park, is scheduled for July 31 to August 1, 2026. The initiative aims to identify and nurture early-stage deep-tech startups that are building innovative solutions for India's unique challenges across six critical sectors: Manufacturing, Robotics, MSME, BFSI, Healthcare, and Agriculture.

This program is a core component of India's broader mission to achieve sovereign technology independence and secure global leadership in the rapidly evolving AI landscape. By providing a platform for startups to showcase their capabilities, the government intends to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial deployment. The initiative is designed to foster a robust ecosystem where indigenous AI solutions can thrive, ultimately reducing reliance on foreign technology stacks while addressing domestic socio-economic needs through advanced computational models.

Selected startups that successfully pass the incubation phase will be eligible to apply for a significant deployment grant of up to ₹20,00,000. This financial support is intended to accelerate the development of prototypes into scalable products. By focusing on high-impact sectors, the IndiaAI Mission expects to catalyze a new wave of entrepreneurship that aligns with national development goals, ensuring that the next generation of AI-driven innovations is built within India for the global market.
