India Adopts Jaipur Declaration To Champion Human-Led Artificial Intelligence Governance

India has officially committed to a human-centric AI framework to guide its digital governance strategy toward the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced this at the 29th National Conference on e-Governance in Jaipur, where the Jaipur Declaration was adopted to ensure that future AI integration remains grounded in constitutional values and ethical oversight.

The framework emphasizes that AI should serve as a tool to enhance institutional capacity rather than replace human judgment. Key government initiatives, including the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System and the multilingual SAMADHAN DIDI chatbot developed via BHASHINI, are being scaled to improve public service delivery efficiency across the nation.

By integrating AI into the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment and Mission Karmayogi, the government aims to create a secure, citizen-centric digital ecosystem. This roadmap prioritizes human oversight in all automated decision-making processes, ensuring that the IndiaAI Mission aligns with the country's long-term socio-economic development goals and protects the rights of its citizens.
