Hero MotoCorp Launches Vida VX2 Plus Electric Scooter At ₹1.43 Lakh

Hero MotoCorp has expanded its electric mobility portfolio with the launch of the Vida VX2 Plus. Priced at an effective ₹1.43 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the new electric scooter is designed to cater to the growing demand for high-performance, long-range electric two-wheelers in the Indian market, positioning itself as a competitive option for urban commuters.

The scooter features a 4.4 kWh battery capacity, utilizing dual removable 2.2 kWh lithium-ion batteries. This configuration provides an IDC-certified range of 187 km on a single charge, addressing range anxiety concerns that have historically hindered electric vehicle adoption. The removable battery design also offers convenience for users who may lack dedicated charging infrastructure at their residences.

This launch coincides with a broader shift in the industry, as seen with Mahindra's electric vehicle strategy. Battery-electric vehicles accounted for 14.4% of Mahindra's passenger vehicle retail sales in June 2026, more than doubling from 6.1% a year earlier. These trends indicate that both two-wheeler and four-wheeler manufacturers are successfully scaling their electric offerings to meet the rising consumer preference for sustainable and efficient transportation solutions.
