Government Launches Aarogya Setu 2.0 To Revolutionize Digital Health Records

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has officially launched a suite of digital initiatives aimed at strengthening India's health infrastructure. The centerpiece is the redesigned Aarogya Setu 2.0, which has transitioned from a contact-tracing app into a comprehensive Personal Health Record application under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). This update allows users to securely manage their health records and create an Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA).

Alongside the app, the government introduced several tools including the Ayushman App, the Ayushman Sarathi WhatsApp Chatbot, and the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX). These platforms are designed to streamline registration, claims processing, and data sharing across the healthcare ecosystem. With over 90 crore ABHA accounts already created, the government is scaling these digital touchpoints to ensure seamless access to medical services for citizens nationwide.

These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to improve maternal and child healthcare, emergency services, and disease control. During the 16th Conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare, officials unveiled the SUMAN Roadmap 2030 and a revised Anaemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. By integrating these services into a unified digital interface, the government aims to reduce administrative burdens and improve health outcomes for millions of Indians by the end of the decade.
