Classic gaming brand Commodore is entering the mobile hardware market with the Callback 8020, a flip phone designed for a distraction-free user experience. The device features a Y2K-inspired aesthetic and runs on Sailfish OS, offering a de-Googled environment that supports most Android applications while strictly blocking social media, web browsers, and email clients.

Developed under the leadership of Commodore President and CEO Peri Fractic, the phone aims to combat smartphone addiction. Despite its limited connectivity features, the Callback 8020 includes an audiophile-grade DAC, support for Spotify, an FM tuner, and a 48MP camera, catering to users who want to capture moments without constant digital interruptions. A specialized version of WhatsApp remains the only messaging alternative provided to standard text and calls.

Scheduled for release in November 2026, the device will be available in multiple colorways starting at $499.99, with a limited Founders Edition priced at $640.
