Bilbao Youth Gang Linked To Violent Assault On Plentzia Police

A youth gang known as G9, based in Bilbao, has been identified as the perpetrator behind a violent attack on two local police officers in Plentzia this past Sunday. The altercation began when police attempted to identify a 15-year-old associated with the group who was suspected of committing thefts on a local beach. The officers were quickly surrounded by approximately twenty individuals, necessitating an urgent request for backup from the Basque regional police force, the Ertzaintza.

The incident resulted in multiple arrests, including two individuals aged around 20, while two minors are currently facing charges for assaulting a public authority and making threats. One of the assaulted officers sustained injuries that have forced them to take medical leave.
