Bharti Airtel Expands 5G Footprint And Launches Priority Postpaid Slicing Services

Bharti Airtel has aggressively expanded its 5G network across India, deploying over 4,300 new sites in Uttar Pradesh East, 2,750 in Gujarat, and 3,400 in Maharashtra and Goa. This rapid infrastructure rollout is part of a broader strategy to capture the growing demand for high-speed data, with the company currently serving 188 million 5G subscribers nationwide.

Beyond mere coverage, Airtel is focusing on service differentiation. The launch of its 5G network slicing service, "Priority Postpaid," on May 19, represents a shift toward value-added offerings. By allowing users to access prioritized network resources, Airtel aims to enhance the postpaid experience and boost its blended average revenue per user (ARPU), a key metric for telecom profitability in a competitive market.

The company's focus on the premium segment is yielding results, with 3 million postpaid mobile subscribers added in FY26, bringing the total tally to 29 million.
