Bangkok Pub Fire Kills 27: Massive Blaze In Chatuchak District

A devastating fire swept through the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao pub in northern Bangkok just after midnight on July 13, 2026, killing at least 27 people and injuring 63 others. Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed the death toll while visiting the scene in the Chatuchak district. Emergency responders found many victims trapped in the restrooms at the back of the building, where they had fled to escape the rapidly spreading smoke. Prime Minister Anutin has ordered a full investigation into the pub’s safety protocols and fire exits, as many victims were unable to reach the front door. The incident has raised urgent questions about building safety standards in Thailand's popular entertainment districts. While no Indian casualties have been officially reported yet, the Indian embassy in Bangkok is monitoring the situation, given that the area is frequented by international tourists. Authorities have cordoned off the area as forensic teams examine the charred remains of the venue to determine the exact cause of the electrical failure.
