Anthropic Launches India-Specific Pricing For Claude AI Subscription Plans

Anthropic has officially introduced India-specific pricing for its Claude AI subscription services, a move designed to streamline payments for its growing user base in the country. By allowing transactions in Indian rupees, the company has effectively eliminated the burden of foreign exchange fees for local subscribers. The Claude Pro plan is now available at Rs 2,000 per month for annual subscribers, while monthly billing is set at Rs 2,399 per month.

The company has also rolled out tiered options for professional and enterprise users. The Claude Team Standard plan is priced at Rs 2,399 per user per month with annual billing, or Rs 2,999 per user for monthly commitments. For high-demand users, the Claude Max 5x subscription is priced at Rs 11,999 per month, while the top-tier Claude Max 20x plan costs Rs 23,999 per month. All these figures are inclusive of GST.

This localization strategy reflects India's increasing importance to the global AI landscape. Reports indicate that India currently stands as Anthropic's second-largest market globally, trailing only the United States. By removing financial friction, the company aims to solidify its footprint among Indian developers and enterprises who are increasingly integrating generative AI into their workflows, ensuring a more seamless adoption process for advanced language models across the domestic tech ecosystem.
