AICWA Calls For Probe Into Death Of Actress Sanchita Ugale As Controversy Mounts

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has formally requested a high-level inquiry into the untimely death of 22-year-old television actress Sanchita Ugale. Known for her roles in popular serials like *Kumkum Bhagya* and *Wagle Ki Duniya*, the actress was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara East on June 14, 2026. AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta has urged the Maharashtra government to ensure a transparent investigation to fully address the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Local authorities at the Achole Police Station have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The investigation follows a formal complaint lodged by the actress's father, Machhindra Ugale, with officials conducting a post-mortem examination. Simultaneously, actor Sorab Bedi, a friend and co-star of the late actress, has faced intense online backlash following comments he made to the media regarding her state of mind. Bedi has since taken to social media to clarify his remarks, attributing the confusion to the chaotic environment and asserting his deep grief over the loss of his friend.
