The updated KTM 790 Duke, frequently referred to as The Scalpel, is set for a global launch in mid-2027 featuring comprehensive refinements to styling, ergonomics, and chassis architecture. Key enhancements include a larger front fairing, a redesigned fuel tank for improved knee contact, and a sharper headlight design that aligns the model with the 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R. The new version will feature a single-piece cast aluminium subframe, which optimizes weight distribution and improves rigidity, while a updated WP braking system and WP APEX 43 mm USD forks enhance control and performance.

Powering the machine is the reliable 799cc LC8c parallel-twin engine, which remains compliant with Euro 5+ standards, producing up to 105 bhp in its standard configuration. The company has revised the rider triangle by moving footpegs 2 mm backward and 7 mm upward to encourage an engaged, sport-oriented posture. The addition of an adjustable tapered handlebar and a new seat design with high-grip material further tailors the experience for both spirited riding and daily usage, while the new 5-inch bonded-glass TFT dashboard ensures intuitive UI navigation.

With UK pricing set at approximately GBP 8,000, the 2027 model is positioned to maintain its reputation in the middleweight naked bike segment. While the official launch date for the Indian market remains unconfirmed, global availability is scheduled to begin by the end of July 2027. KTM's decision to discontinue the controversial Demo Mode feature across its lineup underscores a shift in strategy informed directly by user feedback, focusing instead on offering more refined, ready-to-ride performance from the factory.
